Going to be a big day of radio for me on Thursday.
I will host The Leach Report on WLAP (630 AM) while Tom Leach recharges his battery before a big month of both football and basketball.
As usual, Tom has Justin Rowland of Catsillustrated.com scheduled as usual on Thursday. We’ll spend about 20 minutes discussing UK’s upcoming game with Georgia as well as what winning maybe has done for UK football recruiting.
Another regular Thursday guest is former UK All-American Mike Pratt, who works with Tom on the UK Radio Network. I heard Pratt speak at the Louisville Quarterback Club Tuesday and he has 10 teams he thinks are most likely to make the Final Four and it includes several that might surprise you. We’ll talk about the upside for John Calipari’s team as well as what the next month might be like for the team.
Finally, Maurice Holmes will join us to talk about the Holmes Cup. His son, J.B., is on the PGA Tour and is a former Kentucky standout. The Holmes family helps sponsor this new, unique event for junior golfers in the state as a way for J.B. Holmes to give back to those who made his junior golf experience in Kentucky so good.
If you have questions for any of them, tweet me @vaughtsviews or call during the show at 1-877-904-1080.
Cat Calls at Mallard’s
Thursday night from 6-7 I will be at Mallard’s on the Danville Bypass along with co-hosts David Hopewell, a former UK center, and Olivia Prewitt for our regular Cat Calls to discuss UK football on WKYB (107.5 FM)
With Kentucky still a possibility for the SEC title game, Hopewell certainly will be pumped as he bleeds blue and is giddy over UK’s recent play.
At 6:20, Stanley Williams Sr. will join us for 20 minutes. His son, Boom, is UK’s leading rusher and best home run hitter. The Williams are from Georgia and Boom once was committed to Georgia, so that certainly makes this game special for him.
Stanley Williams has become a fixture at the UK tailgate scene the last three years and hopefully he’ll have his normal energy drink before he joins us and explains why UK is going to win Saturday.
