With Friday being a doubleheader day for Kentucky fans, I thought it only appropriate to give different fans a chance to share their perspective on the UK-Louisville basketball game as well as the UK-Northwestern football matchup in the Music City Bowl.
Super fan Lacy Robinson of Louisville, director of member development for the National Funeral Director’s Association, will serve as co-host on “Focus on Titletown” on WKYB (107.5 FM) from 9-10 a.m.
Also in studio will be Danville High School senior John Welsh, who is a walking statistical machine when it comes to Kentucky basketball.
Allison Baker, a junior communications major at Western Kentucky University, will be in studio along with her dad, Bo Garrett, a guitarist for Montgomery Gentry. Baker says he’s probably a bit more of a basketball fan because he “yells more at the TV” during basketball games than football games, but he also loves his UK football.
We may also hook up with Keith Taylor of Kentucky Today, who has UK stories featured in The Advocate-Messenger, from Nashville. He’s been there two days covering the Music City Bowl but also went to UK basketball practice last week.
Kentucky will play Louisville at 1 p.m. Friday in Rupp Arena before taking on Northwestern at 4:30 p.m. in Nashville.
If you are optimistic, Kentucky would win both games. If you are pessimistic, it’s not hard to make a case for UK not winning either game.
We’ll debate all that and more Friday with a little different panel of “UK experts” for your enjoyment.
