Will Kevin Knox Jr. play Saturday night against Missouri after his name surfaced in a story by YahooSports about the FBI investigation in college basketball?
Knox had his name appear in a document provided to Yahoo indicating he had lunch with agent Andy Miller or someone in his company, an allegation Knox’s father denied to WLEX-TV sports anchorn Alan Cutler Friday morning.
“I know nothing more than you guys know and that’s there’s no reason for me to speak on it. You guys know what I know,” Kentucky coach John Calipari said Friday afternoon.
Calipari said the report was not good “for all of college basketball” but said in an earlier statement he had no dealings with the agent involved in the FBI probe.
The coach also said as of Friday afternoon he had not talked to Knox Jr. even though his father told Cutler he had talked to UK officials.
Will Knox play versus Missouri?
“At this point, I believe so. If there’s something that I don’t know,” Calipari said.
The coach also doesn’t know if this will be a distraction for his team going into the game against Missouri, which beat UK earlier this year and could have highly touted freshman forward Michael Porter return from a back injury Saturday night.
“I haven’t met with them yet, so I don’t know,” Calipari said.
