Looking for a little different way to enjoy St. Patrick’s Day on March 17.
Well, I’ve got an idea.
Try Nitze’s Hippity Hoppity 3K Run/Walk at Millennium Park in Danville. The race distance is shorter than the normal 5K runs and the 5 p.m. starting time is also different. No green beer, but there will be a BBQ dinner for all participants after the event ends.
The run is in loving memory of Nitze Stinnett, who lost her brief battle with pancreatic cancer on Nov. 4, 2013. The Hippity Hoppity designed to be a fun, family friendly event and participants of all ages are welcome. Proceeds from the event go to the American Cancer Society.
There is a FREE Easter egg hunt after the 3K and the Easter Bunny will be there for photo opportunities — count on seeing me with the Easter Bunny.
This is the fifth year for this special event.
