LEXINGTON, Ky. – Thanksgiving will look a little different for the University of Kentucky women’s basketball team this year as the Wildcats will travel to play in the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam from Nov. 22-24 at the University of the Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center on St. Thomas Island.
The women’s Paradise Jam tips off on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22 and concludes Saturday, Nov. 24. UK will be in the Island Division with South Florida, UCLA and North Carolina. The Wildcats will begin the event vs. USF before a battle vs. UCLA on Friday. Kentucky will conclude the event Saturday against North Carolina. All three games will tip at 1 p.m. ET with UK being the home team vs. UCLA and UNC and the visitors vs. USF. Ole Miss, Purdue, St. John’s and UConn will play in the Reef Division in the night sessions.

Kentucky won the Paradise Jam title in its last appearance in the event in 2014, defeating Oklahoma and South Florida in the Reef Division. Makayla Epps was named the MVP of the tournament while Jennifer O’Neill was on the all-tournament team. This will be the third time the Wildcats have participated in the event.
Tournament directors are in the process of evaluating the feasibility of offering official fan travel packages for the 2018 Paradise Jam. More information will be made available in the future.
