West Jessamine junior offensive lineman Eli Cox announced on Twitter Tuesday that he had landed a scholarship offer from Kentucky.
“Extremely blessed to receive an offer from the University of Kentucky,” the 6-3, 290-pound Cox posted on Twitter.
He already had at least nine scholarship offers including Cincinnati, Marshall, Liberty, Ball State, Toledo, Austin Peay, Cornell and Western Michigan.
Cox started emerging on the national radar about a year ago when he got an invitation to the Rivals 3 Stripe Camp after an impressive showing at the Rivals New Speed Combine in Ohio.
West Jessamine went 6-5 last year and lost to Collins in the opening round of the Class AAAA playoffs.
I saw Cox play once last year. He’s an aggressive, physical blocker who improved his play last season and has put up impressive numbers at some camps/combines.
Kentucky’s offer is not likely to be his final top offer as Louisville is one of several other schools that have been in contact with him.
