Jones Community College 6-3, 225-pound linebacker Marquez Bembry of Atlanta,, a former Tennessee signee, has verbally committed to Kentucky based on what he posted on Twitter today.
“Blessed to say I’m committed to The University of Kentucky,” Bembry tweeted.
Bembry, who was recruited by UK outside linebackers coach Brad White, chose the Wildcats over offers from Colorado, Ole Miss and Louisiana-Lafayatte among others.
Bembry signed with Tennessee in 2017 after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his right knee in the first game of his senior season. Because of the injury and some academic issues, he went to the junior college in Mississippi instead of Tennessee.
He had scholarship offers from Florida, Ole Miss, Wisconsin and Georgia when he signed with Tennessee originally.
Kentucky now has seven verbal commitments in its 2019 recruiting class, including West Jessamine lineman Eli Cox.
