Everything from Relay for Life to the Royal Wedding to the Chamber of Commerce golf scramble — along with some UK basketball — will be part of my radio topics Friday.

It will start on WPBK (102.9 FM, at 7:20 a.m. with Sharrieffa Barksdale, XXXXX with USA Track & Field and a former Olympian. She’s the clinician director at the Maximum Velocity Track & Field Academy at Centre College this week. But she also suffered a mild stroke a few weeks ago and will share her experience about what to watch for there, too.

Next at around 7:35 will be Eric Lindsey, UK director of media relations. His wife, Lindsey, had Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma and went through quite a battle to give insurance approval for the treatment she needed. Not only did she get the approval, but the treatment has worked wonders.

Eric will share their journey with us — and just maybe also give us a few UK basketball tidbits since he’s been with the coaches and players at satellite camps this week.

At 9 a.m., I will be on WKYB (107.5 FM, and will be totally out of my element with JoAnn Rice of Danville. She was in England for the Royal Wedding with several local friends and will share what that experience was like.

New Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce executive director Jeff Jewell will preview the upcoming Chamber of Commerce golf scramble and also give you some insights into his background and job.

The final guests will be Denise Henderson and Brian Shannon to talk about Ride And Shine to benefit Sunrise Children’s Services in Danville. The ride starts at the Junction City Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. and will tour country roads. It includes a stop and lunch at Sunrise’s Cumberland Adventure Program in Bronston.
