Huntington Prep standout Jaemyn Brakefield will make another visit to Big Blue Madness

By LARRY VAUGHT

Huntington (W.Va.) Prep junior standout Jaemyn Brakefield will apparently visit Big Blue Madness for the second straight year.

The five-star power forward is ranked among the nation’s top 20 players in the 2020 recruiting class. Brakefield made it clear how much he enjoyed the visit last year and even though he doesn’t have a Kentucky scholarship offer yet, the 6-8 power forward wants to be back at Big Blue Madness.

Brakefield doesn’t lack for scholarship offers. He has at least 23, including SEC schools Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, Mississippi State and LSU. Some of the other offers are Xavier, West Virginia, Ohio State, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Seton Hall, Baylor, Illinois, Oklahoma State, Houston and California.

He also has an offer from Kansas while Duke and Louisville have shown major interest in him along with Kentucky.

He’s known for his ability to make plays in transition and finish at the rim — even through contact.
