Kentucky will honor John Schlarman, Josh Paschal at each game

By LARRY VAUGHT

Mark Stoops indicated earlier this week that Kentucky would have a way to honor offensive line coach John Schlarman and defensive lineman Josh Paschal this season.

Paschal played in 13 games last year and was being counted on as a potential defensive stopper this year but he’s unable to play because he has malignant melanoma on his foot

Schlarman is also fighting cancer and undergoing chemotherapy even though he’s not had to miss a day of practice yet.

The players will have special stickers on their helmets all season with the initials JP and JS to honor the two. They will also wear blue wristbands that say “Schlarman Strong” and “JPon3.” The defense breaks every huddle with the chant “JPon3” in honor of Paschal.
