Kentucky could be the preseason No. 1 team in the country and John Calipari has made no secret that he really, really likes his team.

Yet the Kentucky coach said Wednesday that the Cats could lose as many as three of the four exhibition games they will play in the Bahamas next week because the competition is going to be so good.

“The three teams, European-(caliber) teams, (then) include Canada. Kyle (Wiltjer) was supposed to play on the Canadian team and then he got that contract so he’s not coming. You don’t know if someone will pop in somebody, a player, but it’ll be good,” Calipari said.

“Again, there’s a bigger picture. Do we want to win every game we play? Yeah, but this is going to be a hard deal. We lose a couple, we lose three, whatever it is. Did we learn about this team? And that’s what I want to do.

“I don’t know if I’ll coach or not. I’m probably going to let the assistants coach the games and I’ll sit up in the seats so it gives me a better chance to watch and learn from them.”
