Ohio defensive tackle Isaiah Gibson, thought to be a one-time Purdue lean, verbally committed to Kentucky and coach Mark Stoops today.
Gibson also had Wisconsin in his final three but apparently Kentucky’s win at Florida made a big impression on him. He also had offers from Georgia, Florida, Louisville, Syracuse, Michigan State, Maryland and West Virginia.
Gibson plays both ways for Springfield where he is coached by former UK defensive back Maurice Douglas but he’s expected to be a defensive lineman in college.
Gibson, who made his official visit to UK earlier this month, is the 16th verbal commitment for Stoops’ 2019 recruiting class that includes his Springfield teammate, defensive back Moe Douglas.
