Where can you hear about the Boyle County Library, Bourbon Chase and Croatia all in one hour?
Let me tell you — WKYB (107.5 FM, wkybfm.com) from 9-10 a.m. Thursday.
My Focus On Title Town show will start o ff with Mary Beth Touchstone of the Boyle County Public Library to talk about the unique Science in Play 2Go exhibit that is currently in the children’s library through early December.
It’s a rare way for youngsters to learn, be challenged and have fun at the same time. I’ll even admit — it looks like it would be fun for adults, too.
Touchstone will also be able to tell us about several other upcoming activities at the library.
At 9:20 one of my favorite guests, Jennifer Kirchner, will join me to talk about the Bourbon Chase activities in downtown Danville Friday night. She’s the executive director of the Danville-Boyle County Convention and Visitor’s Burea.
Downtown Danville will have a block on Main Street between Third and Fourth Streets closed as close to 4,000 runners make their way through towns either running a leg of the 200-mile Bourbon Chase or on their way to the next exchange stop.
It’s going to be a festive time — and Jayme Phillips and myself will be on air from 5-10 p.m. Friday to tell you all about that (Read more about that Friday morning at vaughtsviews.com).
Closing the show at 9:40 will be Centre College junior Bretagne Guempel, who spent the summer doing an internship in Croatia working the U.S. State Department.
She was born in England and has lived in three foreign countries along with 11 different states. She was in Japan for three weeks during Centre’s winter term in January to study the impact the atomic bomb had.
