Kentucky coach Mark Stoops got a lot of national exposure for his crowd surfing after UK’s walk-off win at Missouri last week.
But apparently Georgia coach Kirby Smart did a little dancing on his own in the Georgia locker room after his team’s win over Florida in Jacksonville.
Stoops admitted he had not done anything like that before. Smith said it was not “unique” for him.
“That was just your first time getting to see the inside. That’s not unique to me in the locker room with the players,” Smart told Georgia media members. “I certainly enjoy and treasure the opportunity to celebrate with our guys, and they needed that, and I need it.
“So players enjoyed it, and on to the next one.”
Kicker Rodrigo Blankenship said what Smart did was “awesome” after the win.
“Coach Smart is one of the most passionate coaches in the country. It is awesome when we have such a great team win like we did on Saturday and to see him just as fired up about it,” Blankenship said.
Kentucky and Georgia play Saturday at 3:30 p.m. with the winner clinching the SEC East spot in the SEC Championship game.
