One of the state’s top-rated high school football players will make his college choice Oct. 11.
Louisville Ballard linebacker Jared Casey visited Kentucky last week when the Wildcats beat South Carolina to go to 5-0.
His other finalists are Oregon, Louisville and Wisconsin.
The 6-3, 220-pound Casey played sparingly at Trinity as a sophomore before transferring to Ballard where he missed his junior season because of an injury.
Casey will make an official visit to Wisconsin but the national recruiting analysts expect him to commit to Oregon and if not, then Louisville. He visited Oregon the week before he came to UK.
Despite his lack of high school playing experience, his recruiting blew up with his impressive camp performances in the spring and summer and he’s a consensus top 300 player in the 2019 recruiting class because of his strength and speed.
