LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 11 Kentucky volleyball team will welcome a pair of Southeastern Conference opponents to Memorial Coliseum this weekend in a matchup with Mississippi State at 7 p.m. ET on Friday and a 1:30 p.m. meeting with Alabama on Sunday.
Both matches will be streamed live on SECNetwork+ with Dick Gabriel and Kathe DeBoer on the call.
UK has won 15 matches in a row and is coming off sweeps against No. 11 Florida, which gave the Wildcats a two-match lead over the rest of the conference, and Ole Miss. Kentucky is the only remaining undefeated team in the SEC in large part to its defense and limiting all its conference foes to hitting percentages of .199 or lower to date.
The Wildcats boast a conference-leading .293 hitting clip for the season, which ranks sixth in the country. Kentucky also leads the league in assists (12.85/set) and kills (13.98/set). Three Cats boast hitting percentages over .300: Brooke Morgan’s SEC-leading .418 ranks eighth in the country while Kendyl Paris is hitting .332 and Caitlyn Cooper at .307.
Leah Edmond leads the UK attack with 4.43 kills per set on the season, good enough for second overall in the SEC and 17th in the nation. Setter Madison Lilley will enter Sunday’s contest second in the league in assists with 10.96 per set. Libero Gabby Curry boosted herself to fourth in the conference in digs at 4.21 and received SEC Player of the Week honors last week.
