When I went to the Christmas Eve service at First Christian Church in Danville Monday night, the pastor asked how many of us had seen our Christmas miracle and then told how his mother told him once there was a Christmas miracle for everyone every year if we just looked.
Well, I think I got my Christmas miracle Tuesday from an unlikely source — Twitter.
I saw a tweet from Kentucky Sports Radio’s Matt Jones showing a video of a young UK fan — Brody Schaffer — reacting when he unwrapped his Christmas present and found out he was going to Orlando to watch the Wildcats play Penn State in the Citrus Bowl Jan. 1.
He broke down crying and then gave his father a huge hug. Not sure how you could watch the video (you can see it by checking Brody’s father, Jimbo Schaffer’s Twitter timeline at @) and not be touched.
I immediately thought that this fan needed a sideline pass to the game and suggested that to UK recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow on Twitter. Marrow didn’t disappoint.
“Very touch by this. I would love to invite this you man to practice,” Marrow responded on Twitter.
Many Kentucky fans were just as touched as I was — and apparently Marrow was — when they saw the video. Here’s a few of the Twitter responses that got posted within five minutes of Marrow’s offer to Brody.
