Missouri couldn’t stop Kentucky, but the weather did.
The Wildcats won 66-58 at Missouri Tuesday night despite not getting a field goal the final 6 minutes, 57 seconds, but could not fly back to Lexington after the game because of the icy conditions in Missouri.
“Hopefully we will get out of here before noon (Wednesday) and get home around 2, 2:15 … something like that,” Kentucky coach John Calipari said. “Not many times in my time here has our team stayed over night. This was tough one.”
Kentucky players were already scheduled to have Wednesday off before returning to practice Thursday and Friday to prepare for Auburn, a team they have already beat on the road.
“We need a great two days of practice to get ready to defend the 3,” UK guard Tyler Herro said. “They got it going the second half there. They have good guards, so we have to defend them.”
