Freshman guard Immanuel Quickley seems to be getting better and better every game and could be a valuable player for Kentucky in postseason play.
“Immanuel has been unbelievable. Plus you know either he was going to get it or Tyler was going to get those last free throws. One of the two. Because you know you can count on them to make free throws,” Kentucky coach John Calipari said after Tuesday’s win at Ole Miss.
Quickley not only hit a 3-pointer in the game and played solid defense, but he also made two free throws with five seconds left to secure the road win.
“He’s been terrific. He’s growing. He’s getting better,” Calipari said. “His mind is slowing down. Early on his mind just raced.
“He couldn’t really slow the mind down to be able to do the things he’s capable of doing.”
