Apparently 2020 recruits either believe Kentucky offensive coordinator Eddie Gran truly will develop a passing offense or they think 2020 quarterback commit Beau Allen or freshmen quarterbacks Nik Scalzo and Amani Gilmore will be the catalysts for a pass-oriented offense. Or maybe it is a combination of both.
Whatever the reason, Male’s Izayah Cummings became the third 2020 receiver to verbally commit to coach Mark Stoops over the weekend. Cummings had 41 catches for 597 yards and 11 touchdowns last season in 10 games.
On Saturday receiver Jordan Watkins of Louisville Butler gave his commitment to Kentucky and Sunday Earnest Sanders, another receiver, of Flint, Mich., also gave his verbal commitment to the Cats. So that’s three receivers in about 24 hours that gave verbal commitments to UK.
The 6-2, 193-pound Cummings, like the other two, is a three-star recevier and one of the top 10 players in Kentucky. His other offers included West Virginia, Duke, Purdue, Cincinnati, Louisville and Indiana.
