Lexington Christian Academy (LCA) announced to that long-time Assistant Boys Basketball Coach Ted Hall has been elevated to head coach of the program. Hall replaces Nate Valentine, who announced his resignation last month to become the coach at North Laurel High School in his hometown of London.
Hall, who has been the Eagles’ top assistant coach for six years, including five under Valentine, will also assume the position of Assistant Athletic Director within the athletic department. He had been serving LCA as a health and physical education teacher.
“Although it is very tough to say goodbye to Coach Valentine, I am very excited to announce the promotion of Ted Hall, another great man of faith,” stated Terry Johnson, Director of Athletics. “Coach Hall is an excellent basketball coach who has been an integral part of our success on the court, who will continue to pour into our players both as a basketball coach and spiritually.”
Hall began his coaching career at Lafayette High School from 1997-2000 as an assistant to Don Adkins. He left Lafayette in 2000 and spent eight years on the bench as an assistant to Gene Kirk at Sayre. Coach Hall was elevated to the position of head coach at Sayre, where he served from 2008-2013, before coming to LCA as an assistant coach in 2013.
“I am very excited to be named the next boys basketball coach at LCA,” stated Coach Hall. “I appreciate the opportunities Coach Valentine and the school have given me and I look forward to leading our efforts to not only continue our success on the court, but to help mold our young men in the image of Christ.”
Hall has been a leader in the areas of spiritual development, participating in coaches’ devotionals, FCA breakfasts and locker room devotionals. As a teacher and coach, Ted Hall has been instrumental in the growth of LCA students on the court, in the classroom and most importantly in their eternal faith walk.
Hall will assume his duties on July 15.
