The recruiting consensus seems to be that top 2020 prospect Cade Cunningham will go to Oklahoma State after his brother was hired as an assistant coach there recently.
However, Kentucky freshman Tyrese Maxey apparently has not given up on getting Cunningham to come from Texas to UK like Maxey did. Cunningham is ranked as high as No. 2 in the 2020 class and his offers include Duke, Kansas, Florida along with UK and Oklahoma State obviously.
Maxey told USA Today that he talks and texts Cunningham and knows that coach John Calipari “will take care of him” if he comes to UK.
“Coach Cal loves versatile players and he’s a 6-7 point guard, but he can play 1-4,” Maxey told USA Today. “That’s what makes him such a great player because you can’t really stop him because he hurts you in so many ways. I’ve gotta get him. He’s my No. 1 target in 2020.”
