Rockytopinsider.com is a website devoted to University of Tennessee sports coverage and about two months ago it had a recruiting roundup about the football players the Vols had a best chance to get commitments from in the 2020 recruiting class.
“In-state defensive tackle Tre’vonn Rybka has been a favorite among Vol coaches for a while, and it looks like he’s leaning towards UT,” the article by Nathaniel Rutherford said.
Guess what? The top 500 national player announced today that he was committed to Kentucky. The Dickson County three-star defensive tackle made his announcement on social media three days before his team opens the season.
The 6-4, 285-pound Rybka chose Kentucky over Tennessee, Oklahoma and Oregon. He is rated among the nation’s top 40 defensive tackles in the 2020 recruiting class and is a top 15 player overall in Tennessee.
Rybka had 60 tackles, including nine for loss, during his junior season and didn’t get his first Division I offer until Cincinnati offered him in January. Now he has more than 20 offers.
