Kentucky plays at Auburn in 2020, has just one open date

Most of us are still trying to figure out exactly what kind of success we think coach Mark Stoops’ team will have this year but Wednesday the Southeastern Conference was already thinking ahead and released the complete 2020 schedules for every conference team.

Kentucky has eight home games this year and will have seven in 2020 when the Cats play at Louisville instead of hosting the Cardinals to end the season.

Kentucky will open the 2020 season against Eastern Michigan Sept. 5, a game that should not be quite as difficult as this year’s opener against Toledo.

One major change to the 2020 schedule is that UK will play at Auburn instead of hosting Arkansas like it does this year. That’s a major bump in the degree of difficulty for the Cats.

Kentucky’s annual game against Mississippi State will be Nov. 14 in 2020. This season UK plays at Mississippi State on Sept. 21 in its fourth game.

Perhaps the biggest change is that instead of two bye weeks like the Cats have this year they will only have one next year and it won’t come until UK has already played seven games. The open date is Oct. 31.

As expected UK will have home SEC games with South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Georgia along with Mississippi State and will play at Florida, Missouri and Tennessee along with Auburn.

The other non-conference games will be Sept. 19 at home against Kent State and Oct. 10 at home with Eastern Illinois.

Sept. 5 – Eastern Michigan

Sept. 12 – at Florida

Sept. 26 – South Carolina

Oct. 3 – at Auburn

Oct. 10 – Eastern Illinois

Oct. 17 – Vanderbilt

Oct. 24 – at Missouri

Nov. 14 – Mississippi State

Nov. 21 – Georgia

Nov. 28 – at Louisville

  1. Tough schedule, but a chance to see how the Cats stack up against Auburn.
