How could Terrence Clarke not be one of nation’s top 16 incoming freshmen?

I don’t pretend to be a college basketball expert or a recruiting expert. However, I have a hard time understanding how Kentucky’s Terrence Clarke was not one of the 16 players listed by CBS Sports on its list of top incoming freshman impact players for next season.

Clarke is a consensus top 10 player in the 2020 recruiting class but not on this list by CBS Sports.’

Here are the 16 players to make the list compiled by writer Kyle Boone:
1. Cade Cunningham, Oklahoma State
2. Evan Mobley, USC
3. Caleb Love, North Carolina
4. Jalen Suggs, Gonzaga
5. Josh Primo, Alabama
6. BJ Boston, Kentucky
7. Ziaire Williams, Stanford
8. Scottie Barnes, Florida State
9. Jonathan Kuminga, undecided
10. Jaden Springer, Tennessee
11. Jermey Roach, Duke
12. Moses Moody, Arkansas
13. Moussa Cisse, undecided
14. Joshua Christopher, Arizona State
15. Earl Timberlake, Miami
16. Nimari Burnett Texas Tech

Boone did have terrific things to say about Boston in his freshman projection story:

“Boston is the best of the incoming freshman bunch at UK. A 6-6 scoring guard, Boston is a fluid athlete who can score it in myriad ways with a smooth, high release and an effortless launch. UK needs a reliable scorer to come in and make an impact right away and Boston — one of the most lethal scorers in the country — should be uniquely equipped to shoulder a big load as a freshman.”

  1. That’s a joke

  2. CBS is real week in the evaluation area of college basketball rankings…you’re
better ignoring them since they are mostly hear say reporters.
